Lily is shown above singing and hanging out her laundry. I know you think we are always doing laundry but today we actually swam, snorkled, walked Chewy on the Bahia Honda State Park trails and shared a pint of ice cream in the cockpit. Chewy got thrown off the no-dogs-allowed beach and pouted in the shade while we swam. Apparently, swimming with dogs is considered unhygenic in Florida. I am sure Chewy was thinking, "You can't tell me they are all holding it for this long" as we swam and swam. We saw an iguana on our walk and a sting ray in the water. Pork chops on the grill are planned for tonight. We are planning to sail the short distance to Marathon Key tomorrow. Jacob spent all his free time in Key West pricing skim boards. One broke toe just isn't enough.

ReplyDeletehanging laundry would be a video of her singing while doing laundry..It is hot here in Oklahoma. Record HEAT!! I hung a rug out to dry and the back melted, today!! I play in the sprinkler and you get to play in the ocean. Some things just aren't fair!!!Love you guys!!!!!!
Oh how precious! I can just hear her little voice! Are you still planning a crossing soon? Where will the last stop be and where is the first stop on the other side?

ReplyDeleteWow! Your adventures are less tame than ours! DO you remember us? We are the couple with a dog who were docked with you at Crow's Nest in Venice. We were checking your website to see where you had sailed to and notice you are in the neighborhood. We are currently tied up at Sombrero Resort & Lighthouse Marina in Marathon, FL, which we highly recommend. They have a pool and tennis courts and Latiitudes Italian restaurant right here. David has been working, so this quiet place has worked out well for us. Tomorrow, we plan to drive up to pick up our boys at Camp Nana's. If you need a marina to stay at, we recommend this place - talk to Kyle. They have a discount rate for the next month and plenty of space. Hope to hear from you.

We are still trying to decide where to go from here. The current plan being tossed about is spending Hurricane season in Savannah, GA. Jacob is antsy to stay long enough to met some teens.

ReplyDeleteWe didn't get to go to Charleston together but maybe Savannah? Or you could fly to Savannah and we could road trip to Charleston. I'll be needing a boat break myself come August of Sept. Tell Rex Hi for us.
Tammy - we just got back from Savannah and Charleston and went on up to Pawleys Island. Some wonderful places you must stop are.... St. Mary's, GA. It is a great town adjacent to Cumberland Island just across the Florida/ Georgia border. There is a really cool civil war fort on Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island. All those barrier islands in Georgia have some great Gullah history!! If you decide to go further north - we found a wonderful local fishing town North of Charleston - it is Georgetown. Just north of there is Pawleys Island and Murrells Inlet - AWESOME inland marshes and very quaint and local flavor marinas!!
